The Fourth of July is one of the best times to be in Austin, Texas! You can head out to one of the city’s annual fireworks shows, enjoy live music, spend time on the lake, gather with friends for a backyard BBQ, or take in the festive energy around town.

Here's our top 5 things to do for the Fourth of July in Austin.

  1. Watch the Star-Spangled Fest & Austin Symphony Fireworks

Grab a blanket and head to the waterfront for Austin's signature Independence Day celebration. The event includes live music, food vendors, and one of the biggest fireworks displays in Texas over Lady Bird Lake.

  2. Celebrate at the Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival

Live music, local vendors, family activities, shopping, restaurants, and a fireworks finale make this one of the best options if you want an all-day event without heading downtown.

  3. Boat Lake Travis or Lake Austin

It's going to HOT in Austin this weekend. Being on water is a necessity. AND watching fireworks from the water is hard to beat. Companies like Capital Cruises and Lone Star Riverboat offer cruises on Lady Bird Lake, while many marinas on Lake Travis have boat rentals if you'd rather spend the day swimming and relaxing before sunset.

  4. Get out on the water before the festivities

Start the morning with kayaking or paddleboarding on Lady Bird Lake with companies like Austin Paddle Shack or Lone Star Kayak Tours, then stay downtown for the evening fireworks. It's a very Austin way to spend the holiday.

  5. Go to Willie Nelson's Fourth of July Picnic

If you want the ultimate Texas Fourth of July, this is it. Spend the afternoon and evening listening to legendary country artists before the fireworks. It's one of Austin's most iconic annual traditions.

If you’re in Steiner Ranch, there’s an extra reason to celebrate. This year, we placed over 5,000 American flags on residents’ doorsteps as a way to honor the holiday, celebrate our community, and show our patriotism in a meaningful way. If you received a flag, put it out in your yard and join us in making Steiner Ranch shine red, white, and blue.

As you’re out enjoying the neighborhood, don’t forget to join our giveaway. If you see a flag, snap a photo, post it, and tag @arantrealestategroup to enter for a chance to win a YETI cooler and tumbler. We’d love to see your photos and celebrate alongside the community.

The Fourth of July is about more than fireworks. It’s about pride, gratitude, and coming together as neighbors. Seeing thousands of flags displayed across Steiner Ranch is a simple but powerful reminder of the spirit that makes this community so special.

However you celebrate this year, we hope your holiday is filled with family, fun, and plenty of patriotic spirit.

Happy Fourth of July from Arant Real Estate Group.
